- Attorney
Mary Rannells Rowan
Mary is a seasoned family law attorney who brings three decades of experience and steady guidance to individuals and families navigating complex and emotionally challenging transitions.
As a lifelong resident of Dakota County, Mary brings 30 years of experience in family law to clients in all areas, including divorce, paternity and custody, post-decree modifications, and complex litigation cases involving high asset marital estates as well as spousal maintenance cases. Having experienced her own divorce and subsequent blended family, Mary knows the benefits to parties and children of reaching agreements in their case and is committed to helping clients find a resolution short of trial. However, she works each of her cases to be prepared for litigation should that become necessary, as it sometimes does.
Her interest in the law began in college, when she took a First Amendment class for her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. However, when she began working with families after graduation from law school at the University of Minnesota and admission to the bar, she never looked back and has made that her life’s work. She is dedicated to helping families through some of the hardest and most challenging points in their lives, with a focus on achieving resolution in a way that preserves a co-parenting relationship and the most amicable outcome.
Mary has an extensive knowledge of family law, and she is well versed in options to obtain and organize information in a way that promotes settlement while still preparing for litigation if need be. She also has a network of professionals that can assist clients in all aspects of their case, including business assessments, non-marital tracing, real estate appraisals, and custody/parenting time evaluations.
Outside of practice, Mary makes time to spend with her family, reading, enjoying good food, and volunteering with her youngest daughter’s activities.
